Community& Development
The community and development aims of the club are central to its mission. The activities of the Club are undertaken to benefit the members of the club - both players and officers. the ethos of the club is committed to using sport as a positive platform for development for affiliated grassroots across Africa.
In the near term, the community arm of Scorpions RFC will focus on supporting grassroots community rugby organisations across Africa. the Club aims to “fill the gaps” that affiliated partners see in their programs in order to strengthen the sport in the community and improve its reach. the Scorpions RFC aims to provide support and opportunities for development of players and the sport.
Over the longer term, the Scorpions RFC aims to support affiliated organisations that specialise in particular aspects of the UN Sustainable Development Goals that align with the Clubs’ mission. by partnering with community projects across Africa, the Club wishes to use “Sport for Good” as a development tool to play its part in supporting sustainable approaches to addressing these goals.
