Scorpions Pius Ogena Wins Nile Special Premier League MVP
In a remarkable achievement, one of our very own Scorpions, Pius Ogena has solidified his position as a rugby star by being declared MVP in the Nile Special Premier League. This year, Ogena's exceptional skills and dedication earned him the coveted award, a testament to his outstanding performances on the field.
Scorpions Head Coach Atibu Saidi said of the award “This is very well deserved. Pius has been unstoppable the past 2 years. He has earned a spot back with the national 7s squad. He brought his excellent form to the Scorpions when he joined us for our return game earlier this year and his experience was invaluable to the team.”
His talent and determination have propelled him back into the national spotlight, showcasing his ability to excel at the highest level of the sport.
The Scorpions couldn't be prouder of Ogena's accomplishments and eagerly anticipate his return to our colors in the near future. His contributions to the team have been invaluable, and his success is an inspiration to all aspiring rugby players.
In the photo, Ogena is pictured alongside Peace Lekuru, the women's MVP. Lekuru's talent and potential are also undeniable, and the Scorpions envision a future where a Scorpions women's team proudly takes to the field. Perhaps Pius could convince her to join that endeavour.
Ogena's journey serves as a reminder of the incredible talent and passion that exists within East African rugby.
We congratulate Pius on his achievement!!
