The Scorpions Are Back
Great news for enthusiasts of rugby in Africa, as we announce the rebirth of the Scorpions Rugby team.
Having been in hibernation since 1992, the Scorpions Rugby Football Club will re-emerge into the global rugby family in 2021.
As a leading representative team for East African rugby for over 30 years, the Scorpions harnessed the best rugby talent across East Africa and provided an opportunity for teams from across Africa and internationally to test their mettle against a Club that built its reputation on the ethos of sportsmanship, dedication and skill.
With the explosion of participation in the game across all regions of Africa in the last 10 years, there is a pressing need to harness the talent that is evident across all age-levels in mens and womens rugby and provide a pathway for African rugby players to develop and showcase their abilities to the world.
In recent months, members of the Club have been working hard to be in a position to re-launch the Club in January 2021 with a view to competing in both senior Mens and Womens matches in 2021.
The Scorpions RFC will partner with national unions, clubs and grassroots teams from across Africa and grow the Club from strength-to-strength for the benefit of its members and the development of the game in their respective communities.
Exciting times are ahead in 2021 and beyond for The Scorpions and the Club welcomes anyone who wishes to join the journey ahead with The Scorpions to get in contact.
