Tanzania Rhinos vs arusha Duma

Arusha Dumas first match.

We have been doing some great work in Tanzania of late.

With the help of our two Scorpions Development Officers Irene Otieno and Philip Walsh, local players in Arusha have formed a new club. Gear from Newport Gwent Dragons and Railway Union RFC was arranged and delivered through the Scorpions Development charity network and gladly received by the club. They fielded a team for the first time against quality opposition in their friends the Arusha Rhinos. The Rhinos are one of only two teams that play regular XV a side games in Tanzania. We have developed an ambitious strategic plan to change that over the coming years.

This was a first step of the plan and it was a huge success.

Everyone put huge effort into the game and played some excellent rugby. The game was played at the UWC International School. There was very little between the teams and the result could have gone either way. The game was played in great spirit with the brotherhood and values of rugby present with the teams celebrating this big step together after the match.
